It molds and contours to the body, and the contouring effect distributes that weight over more of the sleeping surface, thus eliminating pressure points. On an average spring mattress, pressure points can create discomfort and make you toss and turn, so memory foam's contouring characteristics will allow for a better night's sleep.
An additional feature of this foam is the open cell composition, which allows the bed to breathe. Essentially, the memory foam beds will not retain your body heat and moisture, leaving the resting area comfortable the whole night.
Visco foam is very highly resistant to mildew and bacteria. Since many people suffer from allergies, visco can assist in improving your overall health and comfort by reducing the presence of these allergens in the bedroom.
A memory foam bed also works to decrease motion transfer between you and your spouse, so if one of you moves during the night, it won't rouse and disturb the other. Fewer disturbances from movement means a deeper, more restful sleep.
It's important to note that good quality memory foam beds won't require a box-spring under them for extra support. Though you can certainly order a platform base to raise the height of the bed, it's worth mentioning that the mattress should feel just as good resting on a flat, concrete surface.
Additionally, sure to have a good look at the warranties that different companies offer and beware of cheap imitations. You can't always be certain of the quality of memory foam from overseas, so be wary of foam mattresses not manufactured in the US.
